Ratios checked October 15, 2026 from official pages: American Express Canada: Travel with Points (Membership Rewards partner list and footnotes); Avion Rewards Terms and Conditions 128366 (06/2026), section 13: Conversion of Points; Marriott Bonvoy: Transfer points to miles. Transfers are usually final and partners change often, so confirm in your account before you move points.
How this calculator works
Where the ratios come from
Every route on the map comes from the program’s own published terms, checked on October 15, 2026: American Express Canada’s Travel with Points partner list, RBC’s Avion Rewards Terms and Conditions (section 13, Conversion of Points) and Marriott Bonvoy’s Transfer points to miles page.
If we couldn’t confirm a ratio on an official page, it isn’t drawn. Marriott lists 38 airline partners; we show the ones that also connect to Canadian card programs, plus United.
How the converter counts
Results use the published ratio and round down, as programs do. We apply each program’s minimum and step size, such as 100-point steps for Amex and 10-point steps for AAdvantage from Avion.
Marriott’s bonus of 5,000 miles per 60,000 points (10,000 for United) is added where Marriott says it applies. Limited-time transfer promotions aren’t included.
Before you transfer
Transfers are usually final: American Express and RBC both say converted points can’t be moved back. Check award seats or rooms are available before you move anything.
Partners and ratios change often, and some programs charge a fee or limit which cards can transfer. Confirm the details in your rewards account on the day you transfer.
Programs without transfer partners
Scene+, TD Rewards, CIBC Aventura, BMO Rewards, National Bank À la carte, MBNA Rewards, PC Optimum and Desjardins BONUSDOLLARS don’t list airline or hotel transfer partners on the official pages we checked. HSBC no longer issues cards in Canada.
Porter has announced a Blue Rewards to VIPorter conversion, but we couldn’t confirm it’s live, so it isn’t on the map yet.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I transfer Amex points to Aeroplan?
Sign in to your Membership Rewards account, choose Aeroplan as the partner, enter your Aeroplan number and the amount. American Express Canada lists the rate as 1,000 Membership Rewards points to 1,000 Aeroplan points, with a 1,000-point minimum, transfers in 100-point steps, and an estimated transfer time of up to 30 minutes.
What are American Express Canada’s transfer partners?
Amex Canada lists Aeroplan and British Airways Avios at 1,000 to 1,000, Air France KLM Flying Blue, Asia Miles, Delta SkyMiles and Etihad Guest at 1,000 to 750, Hilton Honors at 1,000 to 1,000 and Marriott Bonvoy at 5 to 6. Check your Membership Rewards account for the partners open to your card before you transfer.
Can you transfer RBC Avion points to Aeroplan?
No. RBC’s Avion terms list British Airways Avios, Cathay Pacific Asia Miles, American Airlines AAdvantage and WestJet as conversion partners. Aeroplan isn’t one of them, although you can still book Air Canada flights through Avion Rewards travel.
How do I transfer Avion points to WestJet?
Link your WestJet Rewards account in Avion Rewards and convert at 1 Avion point to 1 WestJet point, with at least 1,000 points each time. The WestJet account must be in the same name. Points from ION cards can be converted to WestJet too, but Avion Select members aren’t eligible.
Can I convert Avion points to Avios or Asia Miles?
Yes, if you hold a personal or business Avion credit card. RBC converts 1 Avion point to 1 Avios or 1 Asia Mile, with a 10,000-point minimum. It can take up to four weeks for the miles to arrive.
Can Scene+ points be transferred to Aeroplan?
Not that we could find. Scene+ doesn’t list airline or hotel transfer partners on its official pages. Scene+ points are redeemed for travel booked through Scene+ Travel or applied to travel you’ve already charged to an eligible Scotiabank card.
Can you transfer Marriott Bonvoy points to Aeroplan?
Yes. Marriott converts 3 Bonvoy points to 1 Aeroplan point and adds 5,000 bonus points for every 60,000 points you transfer, so 60,000 Bonvoy points becomes 25,000 Aeroplan points. Marriott allows 3,000 to 240,000 points a day.
How long do points transfers take?
It depends on the partner. Amex Canada estimates up to 30 minutes for Aeroplan and Delta, 3 days for Flying Blue and Etihad, 5 business days for Avios, Asia Miles and Hilton, and up to 48 hours for Marriott. RBC says Avion conversions can take up to four weeks.
Can you reverse a points transfer?
Generally no. Both American Express and RBC say transferred points can’t be returned or converted back. Once points arrive in the partner program, that program’s rules and expiry policy apply, so confirm award availability before you move points.
Are there transfer bonuses on Amex or Avion points?
Programs sometimes run limited-time bonuses on certain partners. This map shows the standard published ratios only, so check the program’s current offers before you transfer.
